FAQ’s

You have questions?  We’ve got answers.  Something you don’t see you want answered, visit out Facebook or Twitter pages and put the question out there.  Thanks for visiting.

Q…How long are the relay race legs?

A…They vary in length from 1 to 9 miles.  This means teams can have a wide range of runners – ultra marathoners to beginners.

Q…How does the actual relay part work?
A…As a runner enters an exchange, she enters the exchange shoot and passes off the slap bracelet to the team member running the next leg.  While your team member is running, you and your other team  mates  go to the next exchange in your vehicle (and follow the vehicle route).

Q…Is there water along the course?
A…There is water at every exchange location, as well as at the McPolin Barn and in Round Valley

Q…Do I meet up with my other team members before crossing the finish line?
A…Yes!  There will be a gathering point, very close to the finish line, where you meet up with your team members to cross the finish line together.

Q…Will you have entertainment at the finish line?
A…Yes, we will have an awesome band,  games for the kids, bounce houses, food, and beer garden.  This will be a rockin’ party for racers and walkers. In addition, every exchange site is a party!

Q..Do I need to have all five team member names to register?
A…No, you just need 1 person’s name and then you can update other team members as you recruit them.

Q…Do I have to fundraise to participate in this race?
A…We will send you a fundraising page, but you are not obligated to fundraise.  However, many racers do fundraise.  All dollars raised support classrooms and students in Park City School District. There will be lots of prizes for fundraisers!

Q…Do people dress in costumes for this race?
A…Yes! We are awarding 1st,2nd, and 3rd prizes for Best Team Theme – so work on your costumes and car to go with your Team Name! Just so you know, the other prizes are for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in Men’s, Women’s and Mixed categories, as well as for the Most Spirited Exchange.

Q…What if I want to have more than 5 people run on my team?
A…Yes, as long as you purchase an entry for each person. Solo and duo entries are available for purchase. You can have 10 people on your team, just buy two 5 person entries. Teams greater than 5 are not eligible for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place trophies.

Q…Can anyone run in this race?
A…Yes!  The race is open to everyone from Park City to Logan to Moab.  You don’t have to live in Park City to take part!  If you don’t want to run, join us as a volunteer!

Q…Can you count my participation toward my PCSD school for the Ragnar $5,000 Challenge Grant?

A… Yes! Running with Ed racers get 4 points, and Walk-A-Thon walkers get 1 point towards the school of their choice.

Q…Can I run with my dog?

A…No. For everyone’s safety, please leave your dog at home.
